Come and join the fun
Come and join over 100 pilots and gliders from across Europe as we get together and celebrate the 50th Anniversary of the Vintage Glider Club, which is this year hosted in the UK. Held at Aston Down in the heart of the Cotswolds, the Vintage Glider Club Rally 2023 promises to deliver a fantastic week of gliding and socialising for all involved.
Even better come a week early and attend the Vintage Rendezvous Event being held locally at the Bristol and Gloucester Gliding Club. Never before have these two events been held in the same country and in such proximity, it probably will never happen again. Two amazing weeks of vintage gliding you don’t want to miss, see the Rally Event Page.
The Cotswolds
The jewel in the crown of the British countryside, the Cotswolds covers nearly 800 square miles and covers many English counties including Gloucestershire and Oxfordshire. Famed for its picturesque villages and pretty market towns, it has been at the centre of British history from Roman times.
With golden Jurassic Limestone building and crossed by more than 5000 kilometres of bridleways and footpaths, its rich landscape contains meadows, woodlands, hills and lakes, making it a popular tourist destination.
The Cotswolds has been awarded international recognition through five European Special Areas of Conservation, three national nature reserves and more than 80 Sites of Special Scientific Interest, it's officially an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

What to expect

Gliding in the cotswolds
One of the best thermal soaring areas in the UK
Our large 70 hectare gliding site with a 1500m main runway offers an excellent location to maximise your soaring in the UK.
Our high winch launches make it easy to contact the abundant thermals that rise from the well-drained Cotswold soil, providing superb soaring conditions for most of the day.
